Pinay wins 'Top Model' franchise

MANILA, Philippines - Finally! After years of droughts and 'almosts', the Philippines finally scored a victory last night on Star World's Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 5, with Maureen Wroblewitz named as the new winner!

The competition was heavy last night as Wroblewitz, along with co-competitors Shikin Gomez of Malaysia and Minh Tu Nguyen of Vietnam for last night's final photoshoot and runway.

The photoshoot was handled by the one and only AsNTM host, Cindy Bishop, and photographed by the show's ever-professional creative director, Yu Tsai. The photos represented avant-garde versions of their countries' national costumes, with Wroblewitz in the Filipino saya, Gomez in the baju kurung, and Nguyen in the Vietnamese Ao dai.

The top three also did a final runway show, with works designed by last week's undercover judge, Xiao Qing Zhang.

New 'Infinity War' reveals new Iron Man suit

We've seen so many updates on the Iron Man suit throughout the Iron Man and Avengers film series franchises, and now we get a new sneak peek into a new suit for Avengers: Infinity War!
Photos of the new suit circulating through Twitter shows the magnate superhero in a less-jagged and smoother suit design, and a triangular arc reactor, not attached to his body, probably inspired by Vision's stone.
Expectedly, there will also be a new bottom for this suit. Because judging by the pants, we know very well that this will not be the new bottom. Another released set photo shows Iron Man with Bruce Banner, and probably meeting Doctor Strange and Wong for the first time.
Avengers: Infinity War will be released to theaters on May 4, 2018. (Additional info from Games Radar) JBM/Fandom Pilipinas

On the June 28 episode of MBC Every1's Weekly Idol, members of K-pop girl group A Pink were asked about their disappointment towards each other, and member Na Eun's answer had caught everyone's attention.

Leader Chorong, however, caught on even before Na Eun could speak, saying, "When [member] Eunji was filming [Reply 1997], we went to cheer her on, but when Na Eun was filming [Cinderella and Four Knights], we didn't go."

Na Eun added, "Compared to Eunji's drama, no one really told me my drama was fun." (Photo from Soompi, story by Allkpop)

SISTAR's Dasom reveals difficulty shooting drama during disbandment

Dasom of the recently-disbanded K-pop girl group SISTAR revealed she had a hard time filming her new SBS weekend drama Band of Sisters due to the disbandment.

At the drama's press conference on June 26, Dasom expressed, "The SISTAR members discussed the disbandment since early this year. Filming for the drama started this past March. I think it was plenty of time to prepare. However, 7 years together isn't a short time. It was difficult for me as I had to focus on the drama while we were finishing things up as SISTAR."

She continued, "I think it's time for us to think about our separate paths. We got along well too. We didn't decide to go our separate ways because of anything worrisome but because we wanted it to happen."

As for the recent news that Bora is dating Big Star's FeelDog, Dasom said, "I knew they were close."

'Produce 101 Season 2' stars' fans donate to close causes

In honor of their success in Mnet's survival show Produce 101, fans of contestants Kang Daniel and Im Young Min have donated to causes for comfort women and children with cancer.

On June 28, Kang Daniel’s fan club Daniel Dot Com revealed they donated 1,578,837 won (approximately $1,380), in line with his votes, to the House of Sharing, an organization that works to restore the honor of comfort women, who were sexual slaves of Japanese soldiers during World War II. The fan club wrote, “Thank you to the national producers of Kang Daniel for their 1,578,837 votes. We will join him in his warmhearted usage of products supporting comfort women’s rights. We would like to cheer on the ‘Produce 101 Season 2’ concert on July 1 and 2.” Daniel was previously noticed for wearing a t-shirt and bracelet that supports comfort women’s rights.

This is not the first time his fans have donated in his name. On June 1, Daniel Dot Com donated to an organization dedicated to protecting cats.

Meanwhile, Im Young Min’s fan cafes on portal sites Daum and Naver donated 1,010,000 won to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation and requested that the donation be used for children fighting cancer.

The person in charge of the donation stated, “‘Produce 101 Season 2’ has ended, and its last event, the concert, will be held soon. We made the donation in hopes of making the event more meaningful and celebratory than any other event. We hope this donation will help many children overcome their diseases and achieve their dreams like Young Min.”

Kang Daniel took first place in “Produce 101 Season 2” and became the center of project group Wanna One. Im Young Min was eliminated in the last episode, taking 15th place. (Image and Text by Soompi)

Sue Ramirez amazes with Cosmopolitan Philippines' Musical Challenge

MANILA, Philippines - So we are all aware that Kapamilya star Sue Ramirez is also an amazing musician on top of being an actress. (Heck, personally I wished she'd release an album because I'd buy that any day.)

She proved us right once again when she appeared in a video by Cosmopolitan Philippines, singing snippets of classic and modern OPM hits such as "Tuwing Umuulan", "Dahil Minahal Mo Ako", "Tadhana", and "Sana Maulit Muli", as well as international hits such as "Sorry" and "Million Reasons".

Facebook was sent into a frenzy (and I'd wish she'd still release an album) and even drew comparisons to less-musically-talented colleagues such as Kathryn Bernardo and Liza Soberano. (We'll let you look for those comments yourselves.)

See Sue in her amazeball-ness here:
