One Direction fans say #1DisStillTheBiggestBoyband after BTS get introduced as 'biggest boy band in the world'

BTS is getting introduced as the "biggest boy band in the world" and One Directionfans are not happy.

The K-Pop boy group is currently making history by getting invited to '2017 American Music Awards', and going on multiple American shows. The boys are making it big in America, in fact, they were even introduced as "the biggest boy band in the world' by Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden.

Even non-BTS fans are praising the group for their great achievements, however, One Direction fans are rather angry at the boys for "stealing" One Direction's title.

The hashtag #1DisStillTheBiggestBoyband started to trend worldwide on Twitter after BTS was introduced as "the biggest boy band in the world".

Angered One Direction fans commented, "A friendly reminder again that no one will ever ever be bigger than One Direction", "No other band will ever be as successful as 1d", "BTS is the biggest band in Asia but I'm pretty sure One Direction is the biggest worldwide even on their break." (via Allkpop)

Red Velvet releases 2nd video teaser for 'Peek-A-Boo'

MANILA, Philippines - SM Entertainment has released the second video teaser for Peek-A-Boo, the title track from Red Velvet's second full-length album Perfect Velvet.

The video shows the girls inside and outside a mansion and gives a preview for the song and the choreography. Check it out below:

Golden Disk Awards to be held in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - The 2018 Golden Disk Awards, one of the most sought-after events in Korean pop (K-pop) will be held on January 10 and 11 at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.

After days of teasing, concert and events promoter All Access Productions has today revealed the details of the event, which is said to be one of the biggest in K-pop, attracting millions of viewers from all around the world. 

A GIF of the artists featured (see above) was first posted on to All Access' official Facebook page, featuring the artists who have been slated to come to the Philippines for the event, including IU, GFriend, TWICE, EXO, BTS, and BLACKPINK. Another GIF (see below) has also been posted featuring the actors and actresses, who are understood to be presenting the awards, including Goblin stars Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook, among others.

This will be the fourth time the Golden Disk Awards will be held outside Korea. The awards have been held internationally in previous years, such as in Osaka, Japan in 2012, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2013, and Beijing, China, in 2015. JBM/FP

'Fantastic Beasts' sequel title and release date revealed

MANILA, Philippines - Warner Bros. has revealed the title for the sequel to 2016's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, titled Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, as well as its release date of November 16, 2018, through its website Pottermore.

The film, set in the universe of the Harry Potter franchise, will follow the events of the last film, in which Auror Percival Graves played by Colin Farrell, was revealed to have been a disguise by the film's main antagonist, Gellert Grindelwald, played by Johnny Depp. According to Pottermore, the film will start with Grindelwald escaping the custody of the Magical Congress of the USA (MACUSA), and will be pursued by protagonist Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne.

Aside from Redmayne and Depp, the returning cast includes Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, Allison Sudol, Dan Fogler, and Carmen Ejogo among others. They will be joined by new cast members which include Zoe Kravitz, Callum Turner, and Jude Law, who plays a young Albus Dumbledore.

David Yates, who has directed several films in the franchise, as well as the first Fantastic Beasts film, is also confirmed to return as director. JBM/FP

AsiaPOP Comicon ticket prices announced for APCC Manila 2017

Last June 25, AsiaPOP Comicon recently announced on the official Facebook page the ticket prices for this year's APCC Manila 2017 that will be held in SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City on August 25-27, 2017. Tickets that will be available for purchase are in one-day, two-day and three-day passes while children age 5 years below are free of admission. Make history again at HISTORY Con Philippines 2017

Yes, the ultimate convention that took Manila last year is back once more, and it is bigger! HISTORY Con Philippines 2017 is back from August 10-13, 2017 at the World Trade Center Manila in Pasay City. That's four days of super duper exciting activies and events. Red Velvet reveals new teaser photos of Joy for the upcoming album

Red Velvet unveiled the set of individual photos featuring Joy for their upcoming summer special album 'The Red Summer' including title track "Red Flavor."

The images reveal the tropical flavor of their comeback, as the two pictures featured Joy posing with a kiwi themed track list, sporting red hair and donning a cute cherry necklace.

Korean girlgroup TWICE managed to sell 100,000 of their debut Japanese album in a span of four days.

The girls sold 46,871 copies on the first day, 27,524 copies on the first day, 15,795 copies on the third day, and 10,763 copies on the fourth day for a total of 100,953 copies in less than a week.

Pinay wins 'Top Model' franchise

MANILA, Philippines - Finally! After years of droughts and 'almosts', the Philippines finally scored a victory last night on Star World's Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 5, with Maureen Wroblewitz named as the new winner!

The competition was heavy last night as Wroblewitz, along with co-competitors Shikin Gomez of Malaysia and Minh Tu Nguyen of Vietnam for last night's final photoshoot and runway.

The photoshoot was handled by the one and only AsNTM host, Cindy Bishop, and photographed by the show's ever-professional creative director, Yu Tsai. The photos represented avant-garde versions of their countries' national costumes, with Wroblewitz in the Filipino saya, Gomez in the baju kurung, and Nguyen in the Vietnamese Ao dai.

The top three also did a final runway show, with works designed by last week's undercover judge, Xiao Qing Zhang.
